The SSF Library at UPS Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, encourages students in Grades 6–8 to explore books, develop reading habits, and discover the joy of learning through the Dosti Kitabon Se campaign.
About UPS Robertsganj, Sonbhadra
UPS Robertsganj was established in 1946 and is managed by the Department of Education. Located in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, the school has been a foundation of early education for generations.
The school provides education from Grades 1 to 5, serving children from nearby working-class communities. For many students, this school is their first and most important learning space. While classrooms and teachers have guided young minds for decades, access to storybooks and reading resources remained limited.
Yet, within these classrooms lived curiosity, imagination, and the desire to learn—waiting for the right support.
Dormant Wall Almirah
An underutilized steel or wall cupboard with outdated textbooks, often locked away from children during regular class hours.
Open-Access Reading Corner
Refurbished with 135 colorful storybooks, leveled reading racks, student checkout logs, and a dedicated reading hour every day.
SSF Libraries at UPS Robertsganj | Dosti Kitabon Se
UPS Robertsganj became the starting point of SSF Libraries. Under the Dosti Kitabon Se campaign, Shail-Satya Foundation established this library with a simple but powerful belief: when children befriend books, learning becomes joyful and lasting.
This library transformed a routine school day into moments of discovery. Children now explore storybooks, build reading habits, and experience learning beyond textbooks. The space encourages imagination, confidence, and independent thinking—especially at an early age where habits are formed for life.
For SSF, this library marked more than a milestone. It marked the beginning of a movement—to expand SSF libraries across underserved schools and communities where access to books is still a dream.
From this first step at UPS Robertsganj, the journey of SSF Libraries continues—one school, one library, and one child at a time.
